5 months...A Little Delayed

Sweet Jake,

Monday you turned 5 months old. And oh my goodness how you have grown! Just forget about that sitting up stuff, you're an old pro now. We even get to go to the grocery store without your carseat! You LOVE it, you have so much fun looking at all the neat stuff everywhere! You sat in the highchair at a restaurant for the first time this month...mommy has been a little nervous about letting you try it because she was nervous you'd fall backwards. But you did great, and you just loved sitting at the table like a big boy!



You are really learning how to play! You love to be in the floor with all your toys now. I love to watch you figure them all out. But it's even more fun to you when you've got someone down there playing with you. You get so excited and you just laugh and laugh and kick your feet like crazy! (You discovered Pa Pa's nose this month too!)

You laugh ALL the time! There have been a couple of occasions where you have almost been doubled over from laughing so hard. It is the most beautiful thing to see. Mommy just melts when she sees you laughing.



The water is one of your most favorite things. You so enjoy your baths but this summer we've gotten the pool out and Uncle Bubba has taken you "swimming" in grandma and grandpa's hot tub. You have a ball! I've never seen your little feet kick so fast! You're learning to splash in the water with your hands and feet and it just cracks you up! (As well as mommy and daddy)

You love your family and you love talking to your family! You are such a sweet and gentle boy, whenever someone is talking to you, you reach up with your hand and touch them on the face. You're such a little love bug!





You had your very first drink, (water), at Sonic! This is a monumental moment for your mommy! I think you liked having your own drink...you weren't sure what to do with that silly cup, and mommy wanted you to suck through this long red thing...it was quite a surprise to you when water came up out of there! :) Get ready because there will be many many more trips to Sonic to come!



Your poor little gums are hurting you! You have become a little more vocal when they do. You don't cry but you do kind of whine a little. You haven't cut a tooth yet but in the mean time you are doing a great job of drooling on yourself! :) I keep telling you that you are going to need those two fingers in the future, but you don't seem to care at this moment in time.

You SO want to be mobile! When you're playing on your tummy you want so bad to be able to GO! You are very determined, so we'll see what happens in the next month or so. Daddy and mommy may be running around after you soon! You also love your feet. You are constantly grabbing one or both of them...especially when you are being "watched" and are trying to show off! You'll get your feet and rock back and forth and just coo! It's precious!



You are such a joy and a blessing to our lives. We are so glad you are here and that God entrusted us with your little life. We hang on to every movement and sound just waiting to see what you will discover next. We love you more than you could ever imagine!
