8 Months

Jake, you are now eight months old and I find myself wondering where all the time went! You are growing way too fast but we are enjoying every minute with you. You are talking more and more everyday and can almost keep your balance well enough to stand alone. You've picked up on some really funny things...we've been trying to teach you how to clap. So, first, we'll clap and say "yay!!" and then, we'll take your hands and clap them together. You think that is HILARIOUS. It's so cute, but what's better is after we clap your hands together you grab our hands and clap them for us! What a little cutie patootie!

Your appetite has definitely grown. You will pretty much eat anything we give you. We've been giving you more "real" food and you just love it. You still have milk every meal, but instead of having to eat that "no fun" baby food, you get the good stuff! Your favorite is chicken! But you also love peas and carrots, bananas, pears, and any kind of bread! (Like your mommy!) And sometimes you are like the bottomless pit...I'm surprised at how much you will eat!


You play so well. We have a big basket with a bunch of your toys in it and you just go stand beside it pulling out whatever toy grabs your interest! I don't even remember the last time you woke up in the middle of the night. You go to sleep about 8:30ish and you don't wake up until 7:30 or 8:00 in the morning. As much as mommy misses you at night, I'm so glad at what a big boy you're becoming!

You absolutely LOVE being outside, even if it's just for a second. You like to go get the mail with mommy. When we start walking towards the door you kick your legs like crazy because you're so excited. You love going on walks and we recently went to the park and you liked that too! You love your friends and I THINK you are starting to remember them when you see them! You don't seem to be as shy at first and you always just smile great big and kick your feet because you're so excited to play!

You are such precious boy and I can't seem to get enough of you. I am so blessed to have you in my life. I still have to pinch myself because life seems like such a dream sometimes. I love you my little buddy.
